» GoFundMe Supported Housing for Mentally ill
Individuals with disabilities often experience difficulty acquiring safe, affordable, supportive housing. The Independence Center has developed a residential program that addresses the housing needs of many of our members. Many members have been institutionalized (e.g. nursing homes, state hospitals, prison) or experienced homelessness due to having a mental illness. The Center's housing program provides an array of services meant to support members in their transition to living on their own. Services include vocational supports, case management, therapy, crisis intervention and on-going community support.
